This is Nico and today this quick message, is to share my sadness and my anger about the drama that led Lucas, 13 years old, to make the decision of putting an end to his life, to deal with school harassment of which he was a victim, a situation that he couldn't bear anymore. And the reason being, his homosexuality! How can anyone oppress to such an extent, a "classmate",

for the simple fact of loving differently? These tragedies prove that it is not enough to fix legislations, in order to change mentalities, because mutual respect despite differences, as well as love, for that matter, can't be imposed. Even though, it should be quite obvious! I think a lot about all those little Lucas who have to grow each day, in this environment,

at times extremely cruel : being an adolescent in the 2020s. Well, we apologize for this little moment of sadness, but I wanted to share this with you! Have a great day. Hello, this is Esteban from Albi. I wanted to say that I was also very moved by the story and the suicide of young Lucas. I myself was harassed for the same reasons as him, at school, in the early 80's,

from the age of eleven, to when I was fourteen. And other than my mother, at that time, no one else had supported me. Lucas had the unconditional support from his parents, but sadly, it wasn't enough. Other than that, I'm not part of the National Education Department, but I recently learned that in some primary schools, a bench was provided for the children who felt isolated and wanted

to make friends, to sit on. And as much as we need to do something about this situation from a very young age, this might be a great idea, as early as primary school, or even kindergarten, I believe... Thank you Nicolas and Esteban for your touching contribution! For all those who don't know about this, young Lucas, thirteen years old, took his own life on 7 January 2023, at his home in Golbey, in the Vosges in France, because he was harassed,

for being gay, according to his personal diary. This incident shook the entire French-speaking media. The events took place from September 2022, to the beginning of January 2023, and seemingly without anyone taking any action! However, Lucas was part of a secondary school that had implemented, a system which allows to tackle actively harassment,

through the appointment of student ambassadors, to caution adults in such situations It's the so-called "Phare" system. (Light house system) And the reason for this is that there are 700,000 students harassed in France, that's 1 to 3 students per class! So why didn't this system work in Lucas' case? Well, this is certainly the last report of "SOS Homophobie " that can provide us with a part of the answer,

since we are told that 26% of the anti-gay harassers are members of the school board, and that 21% of them are teachers! It's a bit frightening! We can then very easily understand why, our young ambassadors perhaps did not dare to intervene. It is the investigation that will shed light on what really happened. As a matter of fact, the prosecutor's office,

decided to file a complaint against X, for non-reporting of child abuse. For the time being, at the time of recording these shots, four minors have been summoned before the juvenile court in Épinal, to be brought to trial, for school bullying, leading to the suicide of the victim. Esteban, when listening to your testimony, we realise just how much, it is already difficult to build yourself up

when you're a teenager and especially when you're gay! We still wonder why some people don't take into account the consequences of what they say, especially when you're an influential and authoritative person for many people in the world. I am thinking in particular of what Pope Francis said, only a few days after Lucas' death, on January 25, 2023, that homosexuality is a sin!

How can he not understand that these words could eventually destroy one's self-esteem especially young homosexuals, who are in the process of building themselves and worse, to push some of them to suicide? What's the point of living, when even the pope says I'm a piece of shit! Pardon the expression! And I even wonder, how much, these words can also lead some adults,

to bully young gays in secondary schools, feeling entitled to do so since even, the pope has condemned gay people! Words that I find really hard to to accept and understand, and it is clear that it was never mentioned, in the Gospels, that Jesus-Christ could have said anything, to the detriment of gays or trans people. And as you said so well, Nicolas, it's not the laws that go change mentalities.

All the more reason, when you hear this last statement of the Supreme Pontiff. That's why I created HappyGayTV, so that our shows and our videos will be shared as widely as possible, for the purpose of changing mentalities and to prove that there is no reason to feel ashamed, guilty or responsible, or even sinful, for being gay! My little ones, I really enjoyed this series! And I really wanted to tell you about it. So it's about the German series All You Need: by Benjamin Gutsche. For me, this series is as good as Queer as Folk, that we all loved and enjoyed, in the 2000s, unlike its latest latest version,

which I found quite annoying, so full of cliché, quotas and stereotypes. With this series, in All You Need, we understand the motivations, the obstacles, lthe doubts of each of the characters, with excellent acting and great dialogues, but also through situations, altogether, both banal and original. So, what is it about? It's about a very strong friendship, between two characters: Vince and Levo.

But this friendship will be put to the test, by a somewhat unpredictable event, that neither of them really expected, and yet is going to blow up in their faces. So, around this friendship, revolves Tom, who finds out about his homosexuality very late in his life and who will introduce us to the gay community, the queer scene in Berlin and all these different temptations. In addition, a very endearing character, Robbie, who will get to meet Vince at the very

first episode and will definitely have a real crush on him. But do we know who Robbie really is? And so, all these characters will grow and we'll uncover their weaknesses, their doubts, their mistakes, but also and most importantly their humanity. Paradoxically, we could hate them all, but in the end, we just love them! The series has notably the credit of drawing a parallel between the struggle of being black

in a Berlin in the 2020s, and the one of being gay. It appears that the third season is already in the making, but nothing is really certain. I've only read about it on one website, but it's not really confirmed yet. And I really hope that there will be a season three, as season two, ends with a cliffhanger which for one of the characters, may lead to serious implications and suggests a somewhat complicated future for him.

To sum up, in my opinion, a beautiful piece of work on forgiveness, resilience and redemption. Just a small downside though, if you don't speak German, the series is not dubbed in French, so you'll have to settle for the subtitles.
