Gay & Happy ?

Can you claim a happy life when you're gay? Do members of the LGBTQI community have the right to happiness like everyone else? Would the road to be happy be more tortuous and long for** LGBT people** than for heterosexuals, or would it lead nowhere?

Are there recipes to access happiness? Should you be in a relationship or single? To be a couple of boys or a couple of girls? Or, does the recipe for happiness have nothing to do with sexual orientation? Is there a lesson in happiness to be learned from all this, one or more rules to follow to have a fulfilling life?

We took advantage of a gay pride in Mas Palomas to investigate, and as usual we got some funny and surprising answers ...

Can you be gay and happy with transphobia and homophobia?

It's not easy to thrive when you're** gay (LGBTQIA+), when you have to deal with mockery, threats, even physical violence. In France, between 2015 and 2016 for example, these malicious acts increased by nearly 20% according to SOS homophobie. But what, in the rest of the world and more particularly in the countries which, even today, condemn LGBT people to the death penalty, or to prison? In order to protect themselves against these attacks, some have decided to go into hiding, to live a double life by staying in the closet, as they say. Others, at some point in their lives, have ended up taking the plunge, and one day decided to come out, to live their sexuality openly. But does either of these attitudes have an impact on the happiness of LGBT people? Do we live happier hidden when we are gay? Or, does being happy have nothing to do with it? And can you have the same freedom to organize your life to be happy according to where you live in the world? Some studies also claim that boy couples are the ones where there is the most fulfillment, because there is less stress, due to a more equitable sharing of tasks, between the two partners! But is happiness in a gay couple** a simple matter of organization?

Perhaps this micro-sidewalk will help you see more clearly: Look!

👉 Do you want to complete this micro-sidewalk, by offering us your recipe for happiness when you're gay? So do not hesitate, leave us now, your comment, in the form of an audio or video message, on the HappyGayTV Hot-Line, specifying that it is the sidewalk microphone entitled: Gay and happy ?

Wouldn't gays be better equipped to be happy?

The particularity of LGBTQIs is that they have had to build themselves in a hetero-normed world. Indeed, contrary to what some people claim, we do not become gay, but we discover it, most often in adolescence. It is a reality that is imposed on us. One day, in spite of ourselves, we are forced to realize that we are different from others, and that we are attracted to people of the same sex as our own, unlike most of the people around us. Finally, it is often what we believe ... Then follows, a very deep feeling of loneliness, because we realize that we must “navigate” alone, in a world, where everything pushes us to build our own. own life, the same way heterosexuals do! And beware of those who do not! Which heterosexuals, for some, are aggressive, even downright violent, against those who do not fit the mold. And this, without forgetting that things are often worse for trances, who wish to change their identity, until they have irreversible surgery, to finally be happy in their own skin. A change of identity that is still very badly perceived, if not totally rejected by many people even today.

But ultimately, being able to build yourself in this world, when you're LGBTQI, isn't it an additional asset to being happy? Do not gays, much more than some straight people, have to wonder about many problems and find answers to them in order to build a fulfilling existence. Because not only, as humans, have they had to position themselves in the face of the same problems as those encountered by any heterosexual, but they also had to find answers to the questions that arise when one is homosexual. And these questions are both material and spiritual questions. This is what you will discover, if you follow the programs that HappyGayTV offers you. And this is what explains why we wanted to create our gay channel on this theme. And this, hoping, thanks to all of you, to bring a stone to the edifice.

Hello my little ones ! I'm very happy to have you back! We are still here in Mas Palomas on the island of Gran Canaria, on the occasion of the Gay Pride, and this is the perfect opportunity for us to ask this question that holds so dear to our hearts, a question you may have already asked yourselves, consciously or unconsciously : how to be gay and happy? In fact, speaking of which, if you have ever more or less asked yourself this question in these exact words,

Please feel free to click on the "like" button, down below, if you're watching it from YouTube! So, how should we proceed when you're gay, in order to have a nice life, a happy life ? Anyways. How to be Gay and Happy, Comment être Gay et Heureux ? What is your recipe? "Quelle est votre recette" ? Would you like to join me? We'll carry out the investigation!

My special recipe for happiness: being able to do my yoga, do my job well, have fun and learn a lot of things. You could fall in love, first of all. Once you fall in love. Then to keep your relationship strong and happy. Then you have to be honest. You have to have fun. And that's it!

How manage that 48 years together quite easy... LOVE! I'm a gay man. I'm 48 years old. I am very happy. And the reason why I am very happy is because I gave up my job in London which was very pressurising. I moved down here to the wonderful sunshine island of Gran Canaria. and here in Gran Canaria, I make sure that I have the balance between a lot of pleasure and a little bit of work.

Lots of love and lots of respect with your partner. I think to be gay and happy, to be gay is something you're just born with something it's natural to you to be happy with gay, by not giving a f**k whatever you think, you just have to decide what you want to do and live your life as it is without asking permission from anybody! I think it's the relationship of a couple that helps, in being happy, whilst also being gay.

Like you have to understand your partner's wishes and what goes along with them. You know! There isn't a magic recipe as such to be happy and a gay man. It’s the same as being a happy person. It doesn't matter whether you are gay or straight. It's just to be that live the life you want to live. Be nice to everybody else. Treat people the way you would want them to treat you.

It doesn't matter whether you're gay or straight. You'll have a happy life! To be in harmony with myself, it's when you do something for yourself, when you go to sport, when you have a relationship, when you have some stable things in your life. I think gay relationships have a far better shot at succeeding than hetero relationships because we're a lot more open with what we want and what our desires are in life, and we're less inhibited by,

by straight people, so yeah, I mean that's what makes us click it’s we don't hold anything back from each other at all. Happiness, is not about ... it's not a question of time. It is more a question, of the things we're living and going through at the moment we're experiencing it. And beyond Grindr and the like, or other websites, or applications,

I think we can be happy whenever and even today, and yeah we do have happy moments. That's for sure! It's to be happy take a daily, live life daily, but live life to the full and live life and just be happy and content as I am and who I am. It's a bit complicated or not it depends! You can meet someone on these apps like Grindr or others or Scruff. But I think it's more of a sexual relationship ...

than a serious relationship. Of course I think it's easier to be gay these days because the acceptance in the society is ways higher than maybe 10, 15, 20 years before. So of course this is what we have to think is like Spain, I'm from Germany, we don't have the full civil rights as they have in Spain. What will happen if every country has the full civil rights. What will happen with the gay prides.

And a sense of humor. You need that too. We laugh at life and we laugh at ourselves and I think that is the answer to a good long happy marriage. Well of course after a few years in life, I can see that, I'm happy. to meet you and get to know HappyGayTV ! Because after all, it's an essential addition ! I agree That's it my little ones ! Well,
