I. Loyalty: a pillar of trust

In this video, Luke declares that he is a faithful person. It is for him apparently an essential value, an essential pillar of trust in a couple relationship. Indeed, when two people commit to being loyal to each other, it creates a sense of emotional security and strengthens the bond of mutual trust. Here are some key points, implied in this video by Luc, that illustrate why loyalty is seen as a crucial element in building and maintaining that trust:

Honesty and transparency: Being faithful means being honest and transparent with your partner. It involves respecting mutual agreements and expectations regarding monogamy or emotional fidelity. Open and sincere communication can prevent misunderstandings and build trust between partners.

Commitment and dedication: Loyalty demonstrates commitment to one's partner and to the relationship itself. It shows that one is willing to give up other possibilities or temptations to maintain the relationship. Mutual commitment enhances feelings of security and stability in the relationship.

Mutual Respect: Being faithful is a way of showing respect to your partner. It means recognizing the emotional, physical and sexual needs of the other person and acting accordingly. Mutual respect is key to creating an environment where everyone feels valued and safe.

Preservation of intimacy: Fidelity helps preserve emotional, physical and sexual intimacy in the relationship. When partners can rely on each other to meet their intimate needs, it strengthens the bond and promotes a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment.

Rebuilding Trust: If loyalty breaks, trust can be seriously compromised. Rebuilding trust after an affair can be a long and difficult process, involving honest communication, holding the infidel accountable, and efforts to restore transparency and emotional safety.

Ultimately, fidelity is often seen as a key element in establishing and maintaining a fulfilling and lasting relationship as a couple. It creates a sense of emotional security and builds mutual trust. However, it is important to note that expectations of fidelity can vary from couple to couple, and it is essential that partners communicate openly and together define the boundaries and expectations of their relationship.

II. The downsides of loyalty

Fidelity in a couple relationship is often seen as an ideal to be achieved, but there are also disadvantages or challenges associated with this practice. Set up as a model to be followed by our Judeo Christian societies, here are, however, some of the potential disadvantages of fidelity:

  1. Monotony and boredom: In some relationships, fidelity can lead to a certain monotony and a feeling of boredom. When partners commit to being sexually exclusive to each other, it can limit variety and exploration of new experiences. Some couples may feel the need to rekindle the passion and excitement in their relationship to avoid falling into a predictable routine.
  2. The pressure of expectations: Fidelity can create social pressure and high expectations in a relationship. Partners may feel pressured to remain faithful not only physically, but also emotionally. This can create additional pressure to maintain constant intimacy and mutual support, even when difficulties arise.
  3. Temptations and Desires: Even in faithful relationships, it is normal to feel temptations or desires toward other people. However, when one commits to fidelity, these feelings can be seen as a violation of the established agreement. Partners may face the internal struggle between their natural desires and their commitment to fidelity, which can generate guilt or frustration.
  4. The risks of infidelity: Although fidelity is an ideal in a relationship, it is important to recognize that infidelity can still occur. Temptation, opportunities or dissatisfactions in the relationship can lead to infidelity behaviors. Fidelity does not always guarantee a relationship free from betrayal, and the fear of infidelity can cause anxiety or mistrust.
  5. Personal Restrictions: Loyalty often involves personal restrictions in terms of exploring relationships or experiences with other people. Some individuals may feel a sense of hindrance or lack of opportunity due to the commitment to be faithful to their partner. This can raise questions about personal growth and individual freedom in the relationship.

It is important to note that these downsides to loyalty are not universal and can vary between people and relationships. Some people find great satisfaction and security in faithfulness, which is apparently the case with Luke in this story, while others may feel limitations or challenges associated with this practice. It is essential that each couple establish their own expectations and standards for fidelity, taking into account their individual needs and relationship dynamics.

III. The consequences of infidelity

Unlike Luc, Christian decided when he moved to Paris to fully live his youth by adopting a more liberated sexuality. Can we then speak of infidelity? Faced with the special relationship he has with Luc, the story does not say, if he has opted today for a "wiser" sex life. It all depends on the agreements made with his partner. It is certain that they must have raised the subject together. Because indeed, infidelity in a relationship can have significant and often painful consequences. Here are some of the main consequences of infidelity:

  1. Loss of trust: Cheating is often seen as a betrayal of trust in the relationship. The cheated partner may feel a deep loss of trust in the other, questioning the integrity and reliability of the relationship. Lost trust can be difficult, if not impossible, to rebuild, which can lead to a deterioration of the relationship.
  2. Emotional impact: Infidelity can cause considerable emotional distress for the cheated partner. Feelings such as sadness, anger, pain, depression, shame, and guilt may be present. The cheated person may feel deeply hurt and find it difficult to overcome the intense emotions associated with this betrayal.
  3. Communication difficulties: Infidelity can make communication difficult in the relationship. Both partners can feel overwhelmed by their emotions, which makes constructive and open discussions more complicated. Effective communication is key to dealing with trust issues and the emotional wounds caused by infidelity.
  4. Impact on self-esteem: For the cheated partner, infidelity can shake their self-confidence and self-esteem. He may question his own worth and wonder what was wrong with the relationship that caused the other to choose to be unfaithful. This can lead to a drop in self-esteem and questioning of one's own attractiveness and value as a partner.
  5. Social consequences: Infidelity can also have social repercussions, especially if the infidelity is made public. Social stigma, judgments and reactions from loved ones can add to the emotional distress already present in the relationship.
  6. Health Risks: Infidelity can carry health risks, especially if unprotected sex takes place. This can increase the risk of contracting sexually transmitted infections (STIs) for both partners. The need to get tested and treated for STIs can add further complications to an already difficult situation.

It is important to note that the consequences of cheating can vary from relationship to relationship, and some people may be better able to overcome the difficulties associated with cheating than others. However, it is essential to recognize and consider the potentially serious emotional and relational consequences of infidelity in the context of couple relationships.

IV. The Surprising Prospects of Infidelity

Although infidelity is generally seen as a violation of fidelity expectations in a relationship, there are some surprising insights that challenge this traditional view. Here are some of those perspectives:

  1. Polyamory and Open Relationships: In some cases, couples adopt consensual non-monogamous relationship patterns such as polyamory or open relationships. In these relationships, infidelity is not considered a transgression, as the partners have established clear and mutually accepted agreements regarding exploring other emotional or sexual relationships. In other cases, certain couples make the choice to welcome within their relationship in their home and this in a more or less prolonged way, even definitively, a third partner, one speaks then of trouple, or more commonly of household to three. Whatever solution is chosen and as André Helman, our consultant, explains very well in this video, in this context, transparency and open communication are essential, to maintain trust and mutual satisfaction.
  2. Individual and contextual factors: It is important to recognize that infidelity can sometimes be attributed to specific individual or contextual factors. For example, some individuals may experience unmet emotional or sexual needs in their current relationship, which may lead them to seek satisfaction elsewhere. Special circumstances, such as geographic distance or periods of intense stress, can also play a role in cases of infidelity. These factors raise questions about the generalization of infidelity as always being a negative and morally wrong action. And that is exactly what is happening here with the painful events that Luc had to face.
  3. Learning and Growth: In some cases, people who have experienced infidelity in their relationship have reported learning important lessons from that experience. Infidelity can serve as a catalyst for deep reflection on unmet needs, failing communication, or other underlying issues in the relationship. Some couples have been able to overcome this ordeal and rebuild their relationship on a stronger footing through increased awareness and restorative efforts.

However, it is essential to note that these surprising perspectives do not apply to all situations of infidelity. In most cases, infidelity is experienced as a painful betrayal and can have detrimental consequences on trust, self-esteem and relationship stability. Each couple should set their own standards and expectations for fidelity, taking into account mutual values, needs and agreements. Open communication, empathy and mutual understanding remain essential elements in navigating the dynamics of infidelity and fidelity in a relationship. The real question is whether each member of the couple has the same definition of fidelity. For some, and as mentioned in this video, it can be synonymous with exclusivity. For others, on the other hand, it can be of variable geometry. It remains to agree on the definition that everyone gives to the word fidelity in their couple.

IV. Conclusion :

Fidelity and infidelity are complex concepts that play a crucial role in couple relationships. Fidelity is often seen as a pillar of trust and stability, strengthening the emotional and physical bond between partners. It promotes security, intimacy and mutual satisfaction in a relationship. Fidelity can also be seen as a moral commitment and a show of respect towards one's partner.

However, infidelity can have devastating consequences, shaking trust, generating emotional pain and challenging the foundations of the relationship. The consequences may vary depending on the circumstances and the individuals involved. It is essential to note that infidelity is not justifiable in all situations, and open communication, honesty, and a willingness to work on the relationship are often necessary to overcome these hardships.

It should also be recognized that perspectives on infidelity can be nuanced. Some couples embrace consensual non-monogamous models such as polyamory, such as Luc, Christian, and Thierry, challenging traditional norms of fidelity. Additionally, some people have reported experiences of learning and growing as a result of infidelity, where past mistakes served as a starting point for better understanding of self and the relationship.

Either way, each couple should set their own standards and expectations for fidelity, taking into account their mutual values, needs, and agreements. Open communication, empathy and mutual understanding remain essential elements in navigating the dynamics of fidelity and infidelity. Maintaining a strong and fulfilling relationship requires a mutual commitment to building trust, cultivating communication and honoring established agreements.

Not to forget the one that you like, our smile, our good mood:

Roselyne ! Along with your comments left on the HappyGayTV's Hot-Line !

Today, you’ll see a really surprising report! Hello young folks, hello everyone! If you think you know everything about life, love, or if you only have a vague idea, well, I invite you to watch the report that follows, and that will really help us take stock of questions we all ask ourselves one day or another about our love life. And, as promised, we are immediately going to the theatre to meet two gay actors:

Christian and Luc from the company "Les 3 Versatiles”. Just like the 3 musketeers who were four, they are only two. Maybe you know them, you may have already applauded them in some of their plays, such as "The Extras", but also "The Wretched Women" or "Voicing both ways" And during this report, you will see by yourself that behind laughter, drama is never far. Boris Vian allegedly said this famous quote: humor is the politeness of despair.

Well, believe me, as far Luc and Christian are concerned, that couldn’t be truer! To prove it, here is the portrait of these two actors, whose story is full of scoops and revelations that will definitely not leave you indifferent at all. Let’s watch the report. Well, look at those clothes: I look like a mess! Oh, yes, you’ve almost walked on the kids! Oh, poor little things! Look how cute they are! Oh yes, behold mine, he’s smiling while sleeping!

Oh no, no, no, no, no, he’s not smiling now; no, he’s drooling! (Laughter) How beautiful he is! And to think that I nearly swallowed him nine months before he was born… (Laughter) My name is Luc I’m from Creuse (France) on my mother’s side and from Champagne (France) on my father’s. I am a boy who lived three years in Creuse and I spent the rest of my life living in north-east Paris suburbs,

in Villemomble. My name is Christian DUPUY, I come from Gers, in Southwest France. I went up to Paris when I was twenty-two years old. Are you a fag? (Laughter) I beg your pardon? Well yes, only queers, or homosexuals, as they put it, watch the Eurovision Song Contest! (Laughter) So, are you a queer or not?

It depends. When I was a very young boy, I knew from the start that I was gay...

because when I was in nursery school, at that time, we took distance with our little fellows... and just putting my hand on the shoulder of my next-door neighbour was enough to send shivers of pleasure down my spine. So I thought, there is something… A few years later, when I became a teenager, I would occasionally fiddle about with boys, but also with girls. I didn’t have any problem with that! I discovered that at a very young age too, I guess I was 12-13 years old I quickly understood what I was. I'm lucky to have big sisters who gave me a book... when I was eight or nine.

a book about sex education. So, I knew it existed. I knew that famous men were gay, so I didn’t really feel panic-stricken. I quickly knew how to put the word on what I was. I didn’t talk about it. As an individual, I was not particularly troubled. However, it was obviously a problem for me regarding the way the others considered me. I knew I was different. I knew I was doing something that was, in inverted commas, not accepted at the time.

Indeed, I remember an anecdote, I was doing “queer” jobs in basements and my mother told me: I hope you’re not doing reprehensible things. If you want, I knew it wasn’t good, but for me, there was no problem in my mind about that. I just understood at that time, that to fully enjoy my gay life, I had to put a little distance between my family and me. I didn’t have any family issues. I decided to escape for a while.

Well, I was twenty-five years old when I chose to really focus on homosexuality. That’s when I felt better with boys. So, I decided to live my homosexual life and completely accept myself as I was rather than get married like many who have a double life. It depends! (Laughter) What does it depend on? It depends, I have bi periods, straight periods,

and I also have queer periods, as you say! And right now, what period is it? Right now, I would say I’m like five-fingered Mary sitting in front of my computer! (Laughter) I gathered my whole family, my brothers and sisters. And then I told them: “Listen, I met a boy in a club and I am really in love with him!” It made my family laugh out loud because they thought I was entirely straight. Where I admire Luc is that I didn’t have the pride he had at all to accept himself as he was so easily. I told myself that I would come back to my family

when I had met the ideal person. Except that, when you arrive in Paris at twenty-two years old, you don’t really want to have a partner. Well, let’s say I enjoyed life as a single homosexual… Then I met someone, but that person wasn’t really the right one. We broke up and that guy called my mother to reveal my homosexuality to her. So, my mother knew that by phone, from someone who didn’t really wish her well. Then, it’s difficult to explain to a crying mother on the phone that indeed, you are gay!

Oh, come on, my son isn't homosexual! If he were, I would know! I'm his mother, all the same! Every morning, I buttered his toasts until he was twenty-four! (Laughter) In addition, I inform you that he had three girlfriends! Well, it's true they were not good enough for him! And, as I pointed out to him, perhaps it was a pity, to let me down, before he really found the ideal woman! (Laughter)

And my mother didn’t know a thing because, poor dear, she died when I was fourteen; she was fourty-two... And although I was very, very close to my mother, I’m not sure at all she would have accepted it well if she had known! Well, let me summarize: a sensitive boy with a ubiquitous, castrating and possessive mother. What about his father? He didn’t know him. Ha ha ha! Ha ha ha!

So, here, this is no longer a cliché, but a postulate! (Laughter) As regards my father, I disagree with Luc. I never spoke. He died last year, and I didn’t have the opportunity to talk to him about it. Luc thinks he knew, but I don’t know. He’s always been clever enough to always avoid asking… too many questions about my love life. I hadn’t felt the need to tell my dad about it. As soon as a friend called two or three times in a row he would systematically tell me: “Wouldn’t your friend be a fairy?”

Oddly enough, he moved out. I took a flat in the same building. Bad luck, he received a letter from my boyfriend at the time, who had signed: "Your tender love, Michel”. That's when my father understood. So, we stayed four or five years without seeing each other. When I met my father again, nothing had changed. The first thing he asked me When he saw me with my friend was: “I guess this is Thierry. Who plays the woman between the two of you?” That's a silly question.

I answered: “At home, there is no woman. We’re just two men together, that’s all. No matter what we do in bed. We are a couple, full stop!” And then, my father told me an anecdote. During the “Italian campaign”. He was in Monte Cassino (from January 17 to May 19, 1944). Of course, the Italians collaborated with the Germans. Once the latter arrived in the village, the first gave them their... daughters or their sons. In fact, to be left in peace, to save their skin…

Thus, my dad ended up in bed with a guy, who must have been sixteen or seventeen. My father told me: "He had a soft skin like a woman!” “It was as if I had slept with a woman!" - “Yeah, but you slept with a man! "So, anyway you're a faggot!" (Laughs of Christian) Then, he ran after me around the table. And I was twenty-three. He didn’t catch me, He told me:

“I ’m sorry, but it sounds a little vulgar. Do you know many queers who have six children?” I said: “Of course, we do!” We know people who are unable to face who they are: they get married, raise families, but…they are homosexuals, that’s it! So, I think he’s not the only guy who says he's straight, but who turns out to have had intercourse with other guys! I beg your pardon?! Anyway, in that trade, some of them are really great! For example: Jean Marais... Charles Trenet…

Steevyyyyyyyy… (Laughter) Initially, it's true, I began to show some vague desire for art. I told myself, I'm going to Paris, and I'm going to do acting… I enrolled in an acting class. It lasted three months. It was very expensive. I soon realized that I had to live,to eat. So I started working. My life on stage started very early, too, because, I began actin in 1988,in one of the companies of the Paris public transport resort.

It was called “Aurore’s" company. And I registered in the operetta section. So, I did the operetta. 7-8 years old, after I arrived in Paris, I heard about a gay company called "The Crazy Toffees". It’s a gay musical comedy company. The toffees, the toffees, the crazy toffees… (sung) Mad, yes we are, Unwind with us! Our curriculum is made up of Mambo, Rumba, Tango, Cha-cha

All sweet, all honey The music hall with us It takes off for the 7th heaven! Fasten your seatbelts, Turn off your cigarettes Remove the mist from your glasses And follow us. - They sing classic French songs, whose lyrics are changed and diverted. And then, we make stories and musicals. Generally, they were musicals, which took place in a world of men. In fact, when I saw the first "Crazy Toffees” show, I thought, "That's absolutely what I want to do."

Then, I told myself: Well, it's a way “to gently step into the gay environment, and above all, to fulfil my desire to go on stage.” I was really yearning for that! So I joined that company, where it was also necessary to develop several skills at the same time: acting, singing and dancing. Lo nuestro se acabó

Y te arrepentirás, de haberlo puesto fin A un año de amor Si ahora tú te vas Pronto descubrirás With all due respect to my friend, Christian, I've never been a man-chaser, unlike him. So, if I felt ok with a guy,... I wouldn’t go anywhere else, I wouldn’t go and flirt here and there. I've never been a very open guy about that, I'm rather faithful!

So, I met some boys when I was younger, but... it didn’t last very long. After that, I met Thierry in a nightclub. Thierry never went to a club because he's fond of history, books and things like that. And that night, with a friend, he thought: "Well, well, let’s go clubbing!” I noticed that boy who looked a little like Nicolas Peyrac (a French singer) I went up to the cloakroom, and on my way up, I came across him. At that moment, I said to myself: “Wow, what a handsome guy!” And the first slow set began. At the time, we were lucky, there were slow sets.

It was much easier to flirt. So, I invited him to dance the first set. And I told him: “Do you want to dance?” He stared at me and said: “Are you out of your mind?” Then, I thought: “I have a long way to go!” And finally, we danced together! Because it takes two to tango, otherwise no duet is possible and we head for a fall.

No duet was possible between us, except two words, we both thought: get fucked! I knew Thierry in the 1980s. Unfortunately, it was the period when the AIDS epidemic broke out. And Thierry had had a love life before we met. Obviously, I had a love life too. Bad luck, Thierry was HIV positive. Our story lasted five years roughly Since we fully lived our love for five years. Then, when he knew he was contaminated, he didn’t want me to have sex with him anymore because he didn’t want to contaminate me.

He fell very ill in 1994, he almost died. A few years later, in 1999, he nearly died again. When I took him out of the hospital, he weighed hardly more than eighty pounds (37 Kg). At hôpital Saint-Louis, (Paris), they told me: “You know, your friend only has one or two months left to live!” It was before the “tritherapies.” In the meantime, I was flirting around. Now and then, I would meet boys just for one-night stands. But Thierry knew. One day, he told me: “I’d rather you had someone regular instead of taking risks and becoming infected.” So, my little bee, it's been a long time since you came to buzz around my hive!

(Laughter) The “Crazy Toffees” helped me greatly. Indeed, when Thierry was in a coma, the first time was in 1994, I was told : "You know, it's only a matter of months for your friend, he's going to die." I was already part of the “Crazy Toffees” and I knew Christian in that company, we were friends. And I remember at the time, we were rehearsing “Sleeping Beast” because I was playing the role of a fairy. And I can see myself, because I took a cell phone. Because the hospital medical staff told me: "Leave your cell on, we need to be able to let you know when your friend dies.” And I can see myself turning with my magic wand during the rehearsals, and so on… I rather felt like crying. But I say to myself:

"Fortunately I had that activity because it really helped me." It helped me, not to forget, but to do something else, and not… It’s terrible, because you feel a little lonely in those moments! Because, in the end, whatever the disease may be, you always think of the patients without ever caring about the accompanying persons. If tonight was the end of the world

Would I still have time to say goodbye to you?

Would I have time before the end of day To finally confess my love to you Before dying in your arms?

If tonight was the end of the world… I didn’t want to meet anyone who was part of the “Crazy Toffees.” Especially because I saw that it didn’t necessarily go well, when there were.... couples being made and above all unmade within the company! I didn’t want to be involved in that kind of... ...of psychodrama... In addition, as Luc had been dating his partner for twenty years, I absolutely didn’t imagine... having a love affair with him! I had noticed him, but I didn’t have...

any designs on Christian. He was a… I found him handsome, but for me, he was a good buddy, a friend. I have never considered having sex with Christian, not for a single moment! - Why’s that? Don’t you like me? - I certainly don’t like you. Definitely not! -What don’t you like about me? (Laughter) - How amazing straight guys are! -You believe that because we have homosexual tendencies,

we’re complete horndogs, under the pretext that we spend the night together, don’t you? - No, but you could tell me you don’t like me more tactfully! Then, one day, we had a rehearsal with the “Crazy Toffees”, and we ended up in Ménilles, a small town in Normandy (France), I think. And that very night, since there was not enough room for everyone as could be expected, as could be expected, we ended up in the same room. There it is. And what was bound to happen happened. I think I provoked him, by the way.

I fully admit it. And I found him very handsome. Although he always said: "I'll never sleep with a member of the “Crazy Toffees”, he slept with me! The curtain dropped.

And the final act ended

On your official meeting With a beam fallen from the sky It was our fate. You always dreamed To accompany you until the end… - We kept that story secret for six months. His alibi was that he regularly went to the dentist’s. Because he has tooth problems and I was the dentist! - Thierry knew that from time to time I had one-night stands And on a summer day in Mayenne (France), we were together

and I think I was singing while doing the washing-up. He told me: “You seem to be okay from a psychological point of view.” I answered: “Yes” “But have you met someone else?” “Yes, I have.” He asked: “What does he look like?” I said: "He's a married guy." “Oh, is he?" “He is.” “Does he have any children?”

I said: “Yes, he has two.” In a nutshell… The more I answered, the more questions he asked me. "And where's his wife?" “She is on holidays with the children in Brittany.” “Really? For two months?” “Yes…” “But, what does he do for a living?” I told him: "He is a salesman in the cement industry." (Christian’s laughter)

- Thierry told me : “Tell me, he must sell plenty of cement bags to send his wife off on holidays to Brittany for two whole months!” (Laughs of the HappyGayTV team) And... I went to water the hydrangeas in the garden and Thierry looked at me and told me : “Well, I'm sorry it's not Christian, because he's a good guy!" And then, I said to myself, it's not possible, he knows it. There is something. How can he know, how has he guessed? And, on my way back, I said: "Why did you talk to me about Christian?"

“Because he's a good guy." "I wish it had been someone like him, rather than a married man, it's going to be complicated for you to see each other"... - I told him: "Well, it's Christian!" A duet, what did you have in mind when, from heaven, you decided to get us out of the coma? A duet is hideous, insidious, because by doing so, God gets us into the shit… - I feel in a very awkward situation. Because, it's not even, “a one-night stand”, a vaudeville with a husband, a wife and a lover. I knew everything that Luc has just said,

I knew the whole story, I knew everything he had done for Thierry. I saw him crying with his magic wand while he was singing during the rehearsals in the “Crazy Toffees.” I blamed myself doubly. I felt I was cheating on everyone. I was cheating on both father and friend. It was hard enough for me. I felt a little better from the moment we had Thierry’s blessing, even if I didn’t really feem comfortable when I had to see him again afterwards. Obviously, it was difficult to introduce them to each other. Because after the first time he came to eat,

after telling Thierry... Well, Thierry went into the room while Christian got into the living room. They didn’t know where to go. They didn’t dare to look at each other. Whereas I should have felt embarrassed. And apparently, they were the ones who were embarrassed. But I understand, I think that, even if I had been told this story, of, of... It's not even a threesome, it's two couples in three, somewhere. I'm not sure I would have understood that story.

Two couples in three because, in fact... the three of us don’t live together. There are really two couples separated into three people. With a common element: Luc And both couples get along perfectly well! That night, I had a wonderful dream. It was about a land where children were happy, Where women enjoyed endlessly From a home full of delights, Where men were all brothers from father to son.

I find that Thierry is much more fulfilled, because his fear even if he feels better now, his fear was to die, leaving me on my own. And it's… Honestly, we live a very beautiful story. We are not a threesome at all, as people might think. I no longer have sex with Thierry but I love him above all. As I love Christian above all. It is true that I tend to be more protective with Thierry, so, I'm more often with him than I am with Christian. But we have our private moments.

We go on holidays together, with Christian. And it's been like that for fifteen years. That’s it! I’m not saying it doesn’t exist. But I don’t think all couples can accept that. It's a beautiful proof of love. Whether you are wax doll or a stuffed doll We are all happy to live We are all Eurovision Anyway, what was more difficult for us was to... It's sad to say, but “our very, very, good friends”, were beginning to judge me because of Thierry.

And actually, I didn’t appreciate. Because I told them: I never let Thierry down, when he was sick, it's not to leave him now!” It was a deal with Christian, I think that if I had told Christian: "I am leaving Thierry to go and live with you, it would have stopped right away.” “All right!” So, that idea never occurred to us! And what deeply touched me was the fact that my friends who had known me for twenty or thirty years, could think I was going to let Thierry down. And even though I didn’t want to justify myself, I told them:

"I think I have nothing to reproach myself with." I took care of Thierry when he was sick, when he was at the worst. I was his companion, but I was his husband, I was his friend, I was his brother. I was also his parents, because, at the time, they had rejected their son for being homosexual. And they rejected him twice as more when they knew he had AIDS and I didn’t. ! Well, Thierry had very difficult moments on his hospital bed, where he lay between life and death.

He was coming out of a coma, his parents had not been very nice to him. We cut ties with them, we didn’t see each other for almost sixteen years. And we saw them again four years ago, before our wedding, with Thierry. So, we offered them to come. We have not forgotten what happened,... but as I rather want to keep enjoying a peaceful life, I prefer being forgiving. It’s true, we only have one life on earth. What’s more, they are still his parents, and they always will be. And now, they don’t know what to do to be forgiven.

They lost sixteen years of life with their son. They will never make up for lost time. But I'm happy to have worked in that direction.

I’m warning you, stay away! Unless you are policemen… I kill the one who takes a step forward. Watch out, I have a Swiss army knife. There's a baby born from that, it’s true. For a long time, I had really been longing... to write my own texts, to do my own staging. We started making little duets with Luc that we precisely showed to the “Crazy Toffees” or to our friends. Then, very quickly, we wanted to create our own company. So actually, we can call that our baby.

In the end, as I worked for the RATP (the Paris public transport network), the first song was a nod to the Paris metro Christian twisted the original lyrics of “Rien qu’une larme dans tes yeux” ("Nothing but a tear in your eyes") into with “Rien qu’une rame sur la ligne 2” (“Nothing but one train on the blue line”). (Laughs of the HappyGayTV team) “Nothing but one tear in your eye.” «Rien qu’une larme dans tes yeux» (sung) “Nothing but one train on the blue line.” (sung) «So, what's very funny is that we started playing sketches together. Except that I needed a coach,

someone pushing me forward. And in fact, Luc was the perfect person, because he always pushed me to do that. - It's true, that we had a complicity, we were really into it. And then, a song, two songs, three songs, four songs and... So one day, we met, the boss of “la Boîte à Frissons”, Hervé LATAPIE, who told me: "Listen, what you do isn’t bad at all, since ..." “Wouldn't you like to put on a show?" Thank you Hervé, if one day you watch this show. He lent us his room for two days or three days, and it was the first time we had played "À voix et à vapeur", in his club (a nightclub in Paris).

(Applause)

So it was good because Christian believed in me and I believed in him. And that's important because when I was a child, my father kept telling me: “Well, you’re a good-for-nothing.” Not to mention all the rest. And finally, he helped me recover my self-esteem on several things, and I regained confidence even on stage. I feel I’ve been successful in my life. I remember an anecdote when I was at rue Caumartin (Paris-France, at the commercial department of the RATP, where I told my boss: “you have to give me an afternoon off, because I’m going to be… … on the Olympia’s stage tonight!” (The most famous music hall in Paris)

He told me: "Yes, that's right, yes, yes, of course!” (Laughs of the HappyGayTV team) “Anyway, that’s almost the best you can find: we were living at the same time a love and artistic story at the same time. An experience which showed us that we complemented each other very very well on stage. Et voilà, c'était le rêve ! In a nutshell, it was a dream! We'll meet again someday (sung) Nobody wants it as much as I I’ll squeeze in a meeting,

Someday, anywhere I promise I'll be there without fail… (Applause) Well... Just before going on, I wanted to make one thing clear: We suggested Thierry, Luc’s husband, should testify in turn, but he turned our invitation down. Oh, I was going to forget! So, do not hesitate to register right now, it's still free for the moment.

Hello André,... To be honest with you, some people were moved but also very unsettled after watching that interview on a private showing held some time ago. Moreover, I think a few explanations about that somewhat disconcerting story would be greatly helpful to us! So, tell me, André, What do you think of this interview ? It's a bit shocking, isn’t it? I can well imagine that people may be shocked by this interview with Luc and Christian, Because such a way of living your love and sexual life looks so unusual. I just would like to point out that I am not speaking as an expert

as I don’t consider myself as such. I don’t claim I have science or knowledge that others don’t have. I have experience : I’ve been doing much training for a long time : I have an experience as a doctor and psychotherapist. . I see quite a lot of LGBT patients in my office, and that's why I talk. So now, let’s get to the very situation. Well, it’s about a man who lives two love stories in parallel. That's the way I saw it, anyway. Luc,... he's still involved in a love affair with Thierry, he loves Thierry in his own way

and he's involved a more recent love affair with Christian. And he is with both, to me, he is with both. He’s not the kind of man flirting around from one person to another. He’s a man who is faithful to his first companion. He meets another man and who starts another relationship with him. But wait a minute, André! Do you think it is really love? Because, if we take a closer look, there is no one jealous in that story; neither Thierry nor Christian?

And I am certain that those who are watching us now, must be thinking exactly the same: when there is no jealousy, there is no love, isn’t there? That’s an interesting question and an interesting remark as well. We often tend to believe that. And it is true that many people are involved in love relationships with a certain dimension of jealousy, as soon as they suspect adultery. But it’s something different from love itself. It is a kind of consequence one draws from being in love, From a general idea, which is that, when you’re in live, you have to « be faithful ».

Being faithful means Showing absolutely no interest in someone else outside the couple. But what I see, what I notice among my patients and… et ce que j'ai appris de la vie,... and what I have learned from life, is the fact that we can be in love with many people at the same time. We can love several people at the same time Without one of the two partners necessarily being jealous as long as when things are said, and clearly said. André, I'm going to be the devil's advocate,

could we not think in that story, this trio works because Luc, as he said it himself in that report, became a relative for Thierry, his family having turned his back on him, which would explain why Thierry is not jealous of Christian and that consequently the only and true couple, is in fact the one formed by Christian and Luc? In my opinion, there are two real couples. And… they are not of the same kind Insofar as, regarding Luc and Thierry’s relationship, both partnes have given up on sex for a long time.

That doesn’t make him a brother. He’s still a lover. A lover with whom the relationship has changed over the years, as often happens in a great number of romantic relationships. Sexuality becomes less important as the relationship develops. And it turns out to based on something else, on feelings, on mutual esteem, on what we can share, what we have already shared, and what we continue to share. In a new relationship, or newer like the one that links Luc and Christian, sexuality plays a much more important part.

Therefore, these are two relationships, From my point of view, they are two romantic relationships, different in nature. So, André, if I don’t misunderstand you, you're explaining to us that what defines a couple is not necessarily the fact that both partners have sex together. It's something else, isn’t it? Absolutely! But then, what defines a couple? In my view, what defines a couple is the desire to commit to one another. But committing to one another doesn’t imply it is an absolutely exclusive commitment. We often tend to consider as well that commitment means exclusivity.

So, if we are engaged, we can’t be interested in anyone else. In case we are interested in someone else, we don’t take this attractions into account. This is indeed the most widespread and prevailing vision in our society. But it’s not the only one. That’s exactly what I was going to tell you: For most of us, on account of our upbringing, pour la plupart d’entre nous, we’d rather tend to say that Luc is someone unfaithful, while if we take a closer look, no man is more faithful than him. Actually, he doesn’t let anyone down! All things considered, don’t we mistake faithfulness and exclusivity? Absolutely. Indeed, I totally agree with you.

Luc can’t be more faithful. He is faithful to Thierry since he remains in a relationship with him, taking into account the fact that this relationship is old, has changed and is no longer sexual. And… he has discovered a new kind of faithfulness with Christian since he doesn’t say either that apart from Christian, he looks for other lovers by haunting all the gay places at night. On the contrary, he seems to be faithful to Christian. Tell me, André, wouldn’t we all be potentially a little polyamorous,

I mean wouldn’t we be able to be openly involved in several affairs at the same time? Uh, I don’t know. I can’t answer that. What I believe is that polyamory, the ability to have several affairs at the same time, in a fully open manner, by talking to each other, is much more common than we think. Many more people than we think are tempted by this experience. I guess it still represents a minority in our present society where

the mistake between exclusivity and faithfulness remains extremely strong And deeply rooted in many people’s minds, with a very strong sense of guilt, when “rules” are broken. Therefore, nowadays, polyamory Is still described as an exceptional mode of romantic relationship, which doesn’t mean that it concerns a tiny fraction of people, we do not know?. To finish with, André, I'd like to know what difference you make between someone who would be a womanizer or manhunter and someone who would indulge in polyamory. In the latter case, how many mistresses or lovers could a polyamory enthusiast have? What limit should not be exceeded?

One can be polyamorous and womanizing or manhunting, it's not contradictory (laughter) But most womanizers or manhunters aren’t polyamorous. Actually, there are very few polyamorous people. For a very simple reason : it’s necessary to meet willing partners who agree about your having had one or more relationships. And most people don’t agree for the reasons that I’ve just mentioned before. So, practically, there are womanizers and manhunters, who have several affairs – that’s a fact and it’s no wonder to anyone – And a small number of people who

sets up a system of romantic relationships, that more or overlap. That raises many an issue It's not easy to live! But having several affairs may bring much happiness. Yes, and as it’s often said here, happiness gets built up! What about you, dear viewers? What do you think? Faithfulness or exclusivity ? Have you ever been polyamorous? Just like Luc, have you decided to live your romances fully and in broad daylight? Leave us your comments on HappyGayTV's Hot-Line.

Thank you André and see you very soon!

Well, I know you can’t wait to see her. Here she comes : Roselyne from the hot line. So, Roselyne, are you on top form today? Well, I am very fine, my dear Marco. Thanks for asking, it's so uncommon! (Laughters) What about you, how are you? Well, he doesn’t answer. So… (Roselyne laughs) I don’t know what he's doing behind… (Laughter) Don’t speak with your mouth full, you're right, Marco!

So,... (laughs) We have ... (laughs) No, no but, it's a little game between us. So... Let’s start with Michelle from “Belpech”(beautiful peach) in Aude(France). Michelle tells us her husband is a salesman in the cement industry; Every summer, he sends her off on holidays to Brittany, either on her own or with the children. Should she worry? My dear Michelle, have no fear, Luc has made the whole story up!

So, no, no, no, have no fear at all!... Don’t worry, your husband hasn’t changed sides, (Laughter) yhough he may be a little stingy... I won’t beg to differ. Next time, try to ask for holidays in Ibiza, You’ll have a funnier time there than with those boring Brittons. (Laughter) Well then! Marco, what are you trying to make me say?

Cider is not alcohol! So what else have we got here?... Oh!... We have a message from an internationally-renowned star. Police Inspector Barnaby himself!(from Midsomer Murders) (Laughter) Oh no, sorry, excuse me ...                      no no. This is Jeff from Burnaby,                      in Canada (British Columbia) Burnaby ! (Laughter)

So, he asks: “Who is Charles Trenet”? So Jeff,... (in English) Charles Trenet is...(in English) How can I explain?... is my favourite French singer Well,... I’m going to sing you a song by him I will sing one of his songs: it’s entitled “The Sea”. la mer qu'on voit danser... (The sea, we see dancing...) (Laughter) Oh! In English, in English!

Somewhere beyond the sea... (Laughter) Charles Trenet,... Well, that’s Charles Trenet! (Laughter) I hope you have appreciated my strong instrument… Uh... Then we have, Arnold from Miami Arnold who wrote… to ask: "Who is Steevy ?" (Laughter)

Well, I'm sorry but I'm not going to sing you any songs by Steevy because I... Because he doesn’t sing. (Laughter) Steevy,... the bleached-blond guy. Well no, Steevy doesn’t sing. No, no! Steevy is a French TV man. who is famous for being part of a famous reality TV Sshow

Loft Story. (Laughter) That’s it! Well, that’s Steevy! My dear Marco, you will notice, by the way, ... Thanks to me, you don’t need to hire a translator! Roselyne is a true polyglot! (Laughter) Come on, what are you laughing about? You must be out of your mind…

There is nothing sexual in being a polyglot! Dear me, if this boy didn’t exist, he’d need to be invented! He looks as if butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth, but… (Laughter) So, « polyglot » is a word composed of two root words : “poly”, which means ... uh... Well.. It comes from the Greek “poly” and the second root word: “glot"… So, “poly”, which means... uh... well... It means I speak several languages, end of the story… (Laughter)

Nothing more than that. Well, let's carry on! So, now we have Isa... A short name for Isabelle, as you know… There are many questions here... several comments about me as well, and they’re making me sad. I will answer you straight away. I am asked, if I am part of the company “Les 3 Versatiles.” No, not at all. Nay, (Laughter)I wish I had!

But I’m not They are men who play the roles of women! What does it have to do with me? So, Roselyne! Too too too... (Laughter) No ! Well, we have Stéphane from “La Porcherie” –(the pigsty)- in Haute-Vienne (France), who tells us about his recent move to the Limousin countryside. Well yes, Haute Vienne! He couldn’t stand urban life anymore, that's fine.

He expects to be welcomed in the same way as Luc's father had been during the Italian campaign. So, just a minute, my dear Stéphane, let me check something. Well yes, the “Italian campaign”, then this is the Second World War! Well, don’t expect to have the same welcome as Luc’s father during the Second World War, then! (Laughter) Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Don’t worry, everything will be fine. I know what you are talking about, but if you’re looking for young men served on a tray, I… Marco will call you... He knows good addresses!

Well, that's it for today. I can see there are other questions coming… Please do not hesitate to contact us via happygayTV.com As far as I’m concerned, I wanted to say that I didn’t know Thierry, but I totally agree with him, I think Christian is a very good man! (Laughter) A very very good man ! Oh yes, he even is a gentleman. What a gentleman this Christian is! He is… Well, let’s get back to the basics. It’s time to focus back on them! Uh… (She whispers)

Well, I’m sending you loads of kisses(laughter) XXX (laughter) Goodbye! Well, don’t believe a single word of what she has said, she’s completely crazy, today! But let’s make things clear, I can confirm I have many contacts, like everybody else, But all the people who are in my address book are old enough to look after themselves! Come on, Roselyne, once again you’ll set plenty of people against us! Among them, all those who are still considering gays as paedophiles! But it’s like comparing chalk and cheese!

You’ll come and see me in my office in a few minutes, we really need to talk to each other Besides, by the way, I’ve found something lying around here… at the bottom of the cameras. I guess that must be yours… Some time ago, didn’t you tell us about your hair growing erratically all over your body? (Laughter) I better understand why! Given the state of the blade! (Roselyne's laughter) Roselyne, while passing through my office, you’ll get your razor back! OK?

Come on! Let's go!

As you know, afterwards we will select the best of you for broadcast. Such as the ones we have selected today, for example. Hi Marco! It's Minouche again. I had the chance to watch this show in premiere, and I found it very moving! And I especially liked the fact that we don't know right away what happens to Luc's husband,

Thierry, I think. And I hope he's doing well again today I really find this testimony very moving and I felt like actually being there with them. And I kiss all three of them, we kiss all three of them. And again a big thank you! Hello, Momo here. I wanted to say that I watched the Pink Limousines on stage. A show you shouldn't miss!

From what I could see, there is always a gay character in the cast, and it's always brought in in an original way. And above all it's hilarious! The lyrics are very well written those of the songs that they twist, of course, but also the dialogues between the characters. Bravo Luc and Christian! Hello, Cluquito here! So polyamory, is a very interesting subject!

but it seems to me to be something quite theoretical, nonetheless! I think that, as André HELMAN says we really have to talk about it. But even if we tell each other everything, that everything is very clear between both lovers, I'm really not sure that's enough. I think there's always one who ends up being left behind. And on top of that, there is also the fact that one might be more jealous than the other one. So, it's true that the Pink Limousines situation is quite suitable for this, I think it's a good story

But here's the thing, for most people, I don't really think that this is a sustainable situation in the long run, I think it sounds pretty utopian to me, nonetheless! Well, dear viewers, I just have to specify That we’re depending on you to share this programme as many times as you can with a great number of people on social networks.
