So,... I had to make the big step form him, because I lived in... Poitiers (France), all my life was there. My motivation, for getting married,... well first of all, to keep my friend safe. from... and when all the stars are aligned, you have to get married, which wasn't the case the first time. So, the first time,... I thought,... that... there's no such thing as being gay ! I had a first experience, I was around... fifteen years old, I was in highschool. I was afraid of girls, or rather shy, and so I thought that I wasn't ready,... to go on a date with a girl. And so the years went by, and I was still not attracted to girls, I was more,... checking out boys, but still, I didn't have other experiences.

And, I had a friends with whom I usually talk and this friends, introduced me to her sister, I didn't have any girlfriend before that. And... that's it, I got married two years later, because I thought, that you absolutely have to... get married, that, at that time,... You have to have a wife, kids,... and that this too shall pass. And then, somwhere, somhow, it became hell. And I realized, that...

I was really gay. But, I made a stupid mistake, I said to myself : "The kids shouldn't go through a divoce and pay for our mistakes". And now, my kids are married, I have to live my life that way I wanted to, so I decided to get a divorce. And so for a long time now, I realized, and I understood, that it was just homosexuality and not a disease, we're born this way. But, 30 years ago, as I said to you earlier, it wasn't quite... It wasn't quite the same as now... And so, I wanted to go out with men.

But how do you that, especially when you're a merchant. You always have to be careful, especially that I was at my early stages, or so I assumed. I met with Pat,... first, thanks to internet to be honest. I posted an add on the internet. And he replied. We liked each other, we... And after a month, a month of talking back and forth on the internet, we said to ourselves that it was time to meet. So,... we had our first try, even if it wasn't a success. And so one day, he said to me: "Well, I'm going to Grenoble (France),... and...

and I think it's time for me to come pick you up and go together to Genoble". So, indeed, I did... something rather crazy,... because I followed him, even if I only knew him from the internet. He could've been a psychopath, and I went with him to Grenoble... When we talk with someone on the internet, we tend to idealize the person, maybe even more. And, when I met with Pat for the first time, He didn't match the expectations that I had about him, to be honest. And at that time, I wasn't fond of it... So I said : "Listen, I think it won't work this way,... that's it". But he was...

kind of smart about it and he said : "Well, listen, we don't have to rush things, we'll take all the time we need to get to know each other then, that's it you... don't have to answer right away, think about it". And in the end, we continued to talk back and forth, see each other, and voila, today,... eight years later, we're getting married ! (Laughs) - I wasn't really looking for someone younger than me. Yes, I was looking for someone who was 4 or 5 years younger than me, but it wasn't... I didn't want... I didn't want a youngster either, not at all...

And I stumbled upon Freddy, who was 24 years younger than me. For me, it wasn't really a problem, But for him,... kind of. Well, he was trying to figure out who he was... His parents didn't know about it, no one in his family knew about it. We remained in contact, for six or seven months. But, progressively, we felt that ... we were made for each other - We clicked, thanks to his kindness, and his patience.

Because, personally, I had a hard time,... at first, accepting who I was. Even though I played it cool in front of my friends. I didn't assume it at all. So, everytime I met with someone, I've always had a hard time... living it, in the moment, and so it never lasted long enough. While he, on the other hand, was patient, and he already knew... How to appreciate me, the way I was. He,... you know... Through his eyes, ... knows how to tell you things, like :... You're, you're handsome", etc. And this, helps a lot !

Because it shows that you are valued. That's it, it boosts you. That's the "click". It's his human side, his patience, and how much he values things... And yeah, I ended up loving everything about him, and that's it... And when he asked me to,... you know, go out together, I didn't hesitate. I said yes. So,... I started looking out for jobs and,... after that, he offered me one here. So, yeah ... Well, here at Sport 2000, because if I just say here, I won't make any sense !

and this enables me to do my job. The question of age difference well, I think, most of the times it triggers prejudices. That's the most frequent reaction. And these prejudices, nowadays, use a lot of words, that stem, more or less, from pschoanalysis. In particular : marry your father, or your mother, symbolically, this is the language of psychoanalysis. So, in certain cases maybe, this is indeed what happens.

Meaning, that maybe, and symbolically, certain people, will go and look,... for a partner, who's older kind of a father figure or a mother figure, In another case, it's possible. If things are going great in a couple, and here, this is something that struck me, in the interview that you made with Patrick and Freddy, we feel that there's a lot of tenderness between them, a lot of complicity... We feel that they really love each other They insist on the fact that it has always been great for eight years now. So, when everything is going just as planned, we have no reason to go and look... for this kind of explanations.
