If you're not from France, chances are you haven’t heard of Céline Aviani — yet. But give it a little time. If there's one thing the French LGBTQ+ scene loves, it's a powerful, unapologetic voice with something fresh to say. Céline Aviani is exactly that.
Céline Aviani, Between Commitment and Emotion: A French Gay Icon in the Making?
In this new HappyGayTV & You show, an extraordinary guest takes the stage in front of the camera. Both a middle school daycare worker and a committed artist, Céline Aviani powerfully and sincerely embodies a struggle that affects us all: the fight against bullying, including when it takes a homophobic turn.
🎤 Her song "Un Nouveau Monde," an excerpt from which is released on the show, tackles this topic head-on. In it, Céline delivers a message of hope and resilience, reminding us that difference is never a weakness, but a strength.
But if this song resonates so strongly, it's because Céline speaks from experience: she herself was bullied as a child. And that's undoubtedly what makes her words so true, her songs so powerful.
A unique format: Céline answers questions from the community
On HappyGayTV & You, guests don't just come to "talk about themselves." They come to answer real questions, posed by you, the members of the community.
For this show, eight questions selected from our internal social network, the Hot-Line, were submitted to Céline.
Among them, Raphaël's question, which he asks her very directly:
"Do you think you'll become a gay icon? And if so, would you enjoy it?"
Her answer? Touching, profound, and surprising. She takes the opportunity to share her own definition of what a Gay Icon is, and explains why she now accepts this label—or rather, this responsibility—with pride.
An artistic commitment... and a human one
Throughout the show, Céline discusses her dual daily life as a singer and a childcare provider. Two vocations that she continues, for the time being, to pursue simultaneously. Through her songs, such as "Un Nouveau Monde" (A New World) and "S.O.S. for a Youth in Distress," she addresses the unhappiness of young people, discrimination, and the invisible dangers of bullying.
🎬 The music video for "Un Nouveau Monde," ("A New World") filmed in a school, has already been featured on France 2, Sqool TV, and the E-Enfance (3018) association, and has generated real interest. It aims to become a powerful educational tool for both parents and education professionals.
Céline also offers very practical advice to families: how to detect the signs of bullying in a child? What steps should be taken? Who should be contacted at the school? Her experience as a former victim of bullying and a committed educator makes her a valuable source of information and comfort.
A word for LGBT+ youth
Finally, the show ends with a moving moment: a viewer's question about the case of 13-year-old Lucas, who committed suicide after homophobic bullying. Céline then addresses the LGBT+ youth watching us, and their families. This message is unmissable.
🌈 Is Céline Aviani a Gay Icon?
After watching this show, you may have your own answer. But one thing is certain: by putting her talent at the service of youth and diversity, Céline Aviani is becoming much more than a singer. She's becoming a voice. An ally. A Icon.
